Elkhorn Lake Hunt Club Pheasant Hunt 2018

This past weekend three friends and I went to Elkhorn Lake Hunt Club for some pheasant hunting. We did the standard hunt where four birds were released for each hunter for a total of 16 birds for our group. Our guide was Kelly and he had his German Shorthair Pointer Gus.
As has always been the case when I've hunted at this Club, we were treated very professionally and every effort was made by the staff to insure we had a great and safe hunt. Owner Sam Ballou,  his daughter Ruth, and son Samuel make sure everything is taken care of and nothing is left to chance.
I had hunted with Kelly as a guide in the past and was impressed by him and his dog, so when I made reservations for this hunt, I requested him again. We were pleased with the results.
My group of friends for this hunt were Jerry Wade and his grandson Brayden, and Megan Mahon. This was Brayden's and Megan's first pheasant hunt. Both of them were excited to get the opportunity and are eager to go again.
The hunt went very well as expected and everyone bagged some birds.
I would encourage anyone who is interested in a quality pheasant hunting experience to contact Elkhorn Lake Hunt Club and make reservations. Sam also offers a sporting clays course  and hunts for other species of upland game to include quail and chuckars. Meals can be ordered and there is always free hot coffee.
